Probinus Petronius (nescimus, quando natus, quando mortuus sit) senator Romanus saeculi quarti fuit.
Pater eius Petronius Probianus consul anni 322 fuit, soror Faltonia Betitia Proba poetrix Christiana erat. Duxit in matrimonium quandam Claudiam, sororem Clodii Celsini Adelphi praefectus urbi Romae anni 351. Adephius autem Petronii sororem Faltoniam duxit. Filius Probini et Claudiae Sextus Claudius Petronius Probus consul anni 371 erat. Inter nepotes eorum consules anni 395 Anicius Hermogenianus Olybrius et Anicius Probinus atque consul anni 406 Anicius Flavius Petronius Probus erant. Neptis sororis et nurus Anicia Faltonia Proba erat[1].
Petronius anno 341 consul Romanus cum Antonio Marcellino erat et anno 345/346 praefectus urbi Romae.
