Hypanis[1] [2] (Graece ‛Ύπανις) seu Vardanus[3] vel Anticaeta,[4] nunc autem Cubanus,[5] vulgo Cuban[4] seu Kuban[2] (Russice Кубань, Karaczaevo-Balcarice Къобан, Cabardino-Circassice Псыжь, Adygeice Псыжъ) nominatur, flumen est in Caucaso Septentrionali Russico.

Regio historica, per quam fluit, secundum fluvium Cubania (Cuban, Kuban) appellatur. Teberda accola Hypanis est.
