Pliocaenum[1] (scil. "aevum"; a verbis Graecis πλεῖον 'plus' + καινός 'novus') est epocha et series periodi Neogenicae, quae annorum circiter 5 333 000 a.p. incepit, Miocaeno perfecto, et annorum circiter 2 580 000 a.p. ad finem venit, Pleistocaeno incipiente.
Pliocaenum e duobus aetatibus vel stadiis constituitur, inferiori Zancleo et superiori Piacenzio.
