19世紀に於けるエジプト・ヘディーヴ国の範囲-
ナポレオン・ボナパルト軍の敗北と追放により、フランスの短期間の占領の後、ムハンマド・アリー朝によって統治、建国された[2][3]。
1882年にイギリスは、アングロ=エジプト戦争(英語版)でエジプトの支配権を獲得し、オスマン帝国の従属国としての支配は終了した。1914年、イギリスは保護国エジプト・スルタン国を設立した。
