Lee mempelajari seni teater di Institut Kesenian Seoul dan belajar balet selama enam bulan.[1]
Ia melakukan debut aktingnya di film A Good Lawyer's Wife pada tahun 2003 dan sejak itu ia membintangi beberapa peran di layar lebar seperti The Aggressives (2005),[2] Riverbank Legends (2006), Humming (2008), Beautiful (2008),[3] dan Barbie (2011).[4] Ia juga muncul di layar kecil, terutama di Conspiracy in the Court (KBS, 2007),[5] Smile, You (SBS, 2010),[6] Gloria (MBC, 2010),[7] dan Take Care of Us, Captain (SBS, 2012).[8]

Lee menikahi aktris Jeon Hye-jin yang turut juga berperan di dalam serial Smile, You pada tanggal 11 Maret 2011.[9][10][11][12] Putri mereka lahir pada tanggal 30 Juli 2011.[13]
