A kémiai elemek közül az ónnak (Sn) van a legtöbb stabil izotópja (tíz, bár három közülük feltehetően radioaktív, de bomlásukat mindeddig nem figyelték meg), ami valószínűleg kapcsolatban van azzal a ténnyel, hogy a protonok száma (50) mágikus szám. Ezenkívül 29 további instabil izotópja ismert, köztük a duplán mágikus ón-100 (100Sn) (felfedezés éve: 1994)[1] és ón-132 (132Sn). A leghosszabb élettartamú radioizotópja a 126Sn (felezési ideje 230 000 év), a többi izotóp felezési ideje egy évnél rövidebb.
