Michelle Smith de Bruin, nada en Rathcoole o 16 de decembro de 1969,[1] é unha avogada irlandesa e nadadora olímpica retirada. Gañou tres medallas de ouro nos Xogos Olímpicos de 1996 celebrados en Atlanta, nas probas de 400 m individuais estilos, 400 m estilo libre e 200 m individual estilos, e tamén gañou a medalla de bronce na proba 200 m bolboreta. A vitoria de Smith en Atlanta estivo marcada por acusacións de dopaxe, as cales nunca foron probadas. Smith converteuse en barrister após a súa carreira de natación, exercendo baixo o seu nome de casada, Michelle de Bruin.
