Le terme « Psylle » peut faire référence à :
- Psylle, nom communément donné à divers genres et espèces d'insectes nuisibles,
- Psylle, insecte hémiptère du genre Psylla,
- Psylle de l'écureuil, nom parfois donné à Monopsyllus sciurorum, une espèce de puces parasites des micromammifères,
- Les Psylles peuple qui occupait les rivages de la Grande Syrte au-dessus de la Cyrénaïque (l'actuelle Libye) d’après Strabon (XVII,3,23). D’après Dion Cassius et le Tableau de Cébès de Thèbes, les Psylles étaient immunisés contre le venin des serpents. Pour les voyageurs de l’Antiquité qui visitaient l’Égypte, leur nom était devenu un terme commun pour désigner les charmeurs de serpents. Ils disparurent au cours d’une guerre contre le vent du Sud, selon Hérodote[1].
