The Mentors

The Mentors on yhdysvaltalainen heavy metal -yhtye, joka tunnetaan tarkoituksellisen seksistisistä shock rock -sanoituksistaan. Yhtye perustettiin Seattlessa, Washingtonissa vuonna 1977^[1] ja se siirtyi Los Angelesiin, Kaliforniaan vuonna 1979. Yhtyeen tyyli on vuosien saatossa kehittynyt garagesta heavy metallin ja hardcore punkin kautta kokeelliseen thrash metalliin. Yhtye tunnetaan sen itse nimeämän "rape rock" -tyylilajin (suom. raiskausrock) keksijänä^[2] ja se esiintyy mustiin pyövelin huppuihin pukeutuneena.^[1]
