William Harrison Ainsworth (Manchester, 1805eko otsailaren 4a - Reigate, 1882ko urtarrilaren 3a) ingeles eleberrigilea izan zen. Eleberri gotiko eta historikoa idatzi zuen. Zuzenbidea ikasi zuen, baina ez zitzaion lanbidea gustatu. Argitalpen-negozioan probatu ondoren, kazetaritzan eta literaturan aritu zen. Bere lehen arrakasta 1834an iritsi zen, Dick Turpin protagonista zuen Rookwood eleberri gotikoarekin. Beste 39 eleberrik jarraitu zuten 1881 arte. Lancashireko eleberriek 400 urteko historia dute. The Lancashire Witches (1848) eleberrian sorginek konjuruak errezitatzen dituzte euskaraz.
