Jaano Odar (sündinud 15. märtsil 1940 Lüganuse vallas Virumaal) on eesti õigusteadlane.[1]
Jaano Odar on talupidaja poeg.[1]
1960. aastal lõpetas Odar Püssi Keskkooli, 1966 Tartu Riikliku Ülikooli õigusteaduskonna. 1974. aastal kaitses TRÜ-s õigusteaduse kandidaadi kraadi väitekirjaga "Juhtimisteooria põhimõtete kohaldamisest Nõukogude tsiviilprotsessis".[1]
Odar oli 1965–1974 Kohtla-Järve linna rahvakohtunik ja Kohtla-Järve linna rahvakohtu esimees, 1974–1977 Tartu Riikliku Ülikooli tsiviilõiguse ja -protsessi kateedri vanemõpetaja, 1977–1993 Eesti NSV Ülemkohtu liige ja 1978–1993 esimehe asetäitja ning tsiviilkolleegiumi esimees, 1993–2004 Riigikohtu liige ja tsiviilkolleegiumi esimees. 1988–1992 ka Eesti TA Filosoofia, Sotsioloogia ja Õiguse Instituudi vanemteadur, 1992–1999 Tartu Ülikooli dotsent, 1999–2001 Tartu Ülikooli külalisprofessor.[1][2]
Ta on osalenud tsiviilkohtupidamise seadustiku eelnõu väljatöötamisel.
Jaano Odar on uurinud tsiviilseadusandluse ja tsiviilprotsessi probleeme. Üle 90 teadustrükise.[1]
