Uhrovec situas laŭ rojo, laŭ flankovojoj. Bánovce nad Bebravou troviĝas je 7 km.
La unua mencio okazis pri la vilaĝo en 1258 en formo "Vgrovg". Ekde 1295 ĝi estis ankaŭ centro de bieno kaj ekde la 16-a jarcento ĝi iĝis kampurbo kun rajto de bazarado. Tiutempe familio Zay akiris la kampojn kaj profitis ĝin ĝis 1945. En 1784 loĝis tie 869 vilaĝanoj (188 familioj) en 112 domoj, en 1828 905 vilaĝanoj en 64 domoj. En la 19-a jarcento 2 vitrofarejoj funkciis tie. En 1910 laŭ la popolnombrado vivis en Zayugróc 1833 homoj, (slovakoj en majoritato, hungaroj en minoritato). Ĝis Traktato de Trianon la komunumo apartenis al Hungara reĝlando, al Trencsén (reĝa departemento), al distrikto de Bánovce nad Bebravou, poste al Ĉeĥoslovaka respubliko, dum la 2-a mondmilito kaj ekde 1993 al Slovakio. En 1944 la partizanoj okupis la urbeton, sed post 6 tagoj la faŝistoj reokupis ĝin. En 2001 vivis en Uhrovec 1523 homoj, (1508 slovakoj).
