La dezerta rat-kanguruo (Caloprymnus campestris) estas formortinta marsupiulo, el la familio de la rat-kanguruoj (Potoroidae).

La dezerta rat-kanguruo similas plej forte al la veraj kanguruoj. Okulfarpaj estas la grandaj postaj kruroj, la longa, senhara muzelo kaj la longaj, kliniĝantaj oreloj. La pelto sur la supra parto havis flav-brunan koloron, la malsupra parto pli helan, preskaŭ blankan. La dezertaj rat-kanguruoj havis pli longan voston ol la korpo mem, 30 ĝis 37 cm. Ĝi pezis 600-1.100 gramojn.
Ĝi vivis en internaj dezertaj areoj de Aŭstralio, ekz. en baseno Lake Eyre kaj en sudokcidenta Kvinslando. Ĝi aktivis nokte, manĝis ĉion de la insektoj ĝis la plantoj.
La besto formortis post longa sekeca periodo en 1935, sed helpis tion la enportitaj ruĝaj vulpoj aŭ domkatoj, la ĉasado kaj la apero de paŝtantaj konkurentoj kiel bovo kaj ŝafo.
