sticking (plural stickings)
- A sequence or arrangement of drum notes to be played with drumsticks.
1997, Gary Cook, Teaching percussion, page 72:Too often the beginning student finds it more difficult to observe the stickings when reading single beats or duple beat divisions (e.g., quarter notes and eighth notes in 4/4 time) than if he or she alternated freely from hand to hand.
