skrov n (definite singular skrovet, indefinite plural skrov, definite plural skrova)
Used at least since 1592. In Swedish dialects and in Norwegian, skrov means rough, porous. Hence Swedish skrovlig. It is possible, but not certain, that skrov- in skrovmål has this origin.
