Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *en-gala, a denominative based on an unattested *gala, related to Lithuanian gãlas (“end”), Latvian gals (“end”), Old Prussian gallan (“death”).^[1]

1. to be limping, lame, paralyzed
2. to fall behind (in the completion of work)
