jood

From Middle Dutch jōde, from Old Dutch judo, from Latin iūdaeus, from Ancient Greek Ἰουδαῖος (Ioudaîos).
The soccer sense ("supporter of AFC Ajax") refers to the fact that the club Ajax hails from Amsterdam, a city with a traditionally large Jewish community. While supporters from rivaling clubs often chant antisemitic slogans during matches against Ajax due to this association with Judaism, supporters of Ajax have taken to referring to themselves as joden (or even superjoden), transforming what is intended as a taunt into a geuzennaam.
jood m (plural joden, diminutive joodje n)
Borrowed from New Latin iodium.
