Etymology
From Kamba kii nyaa (“ostrich mountain”) cognate of Kikuyu kĩrĩma (“mountain”) and Kikuyu nyaga (“ostrich”), from the name of Mount Kenya. See w:Kirinyaga County#Etymology.
