From Latin Cȳrenaica, from Ancient Greek Κῡρηναϊκή (Kūrēnaïkḗ), from Κῡρηνᾰῐ̈κός (Kūrēnaïkós, “Cyrenean, adj.”) + -ή (-ḗ, “-a: forming feminine nouns”), from Κῡρηναῖος (Kūrēnaîos, “Cyrenean, n.”) + -ικός (-ikós, “-ic: forming adjectives”), from Κυρήνη (Kurḗnē, “Cyrene”) + -ιος (-ios, “-y: forming demonyms”). Equivalent to Cyrenaic + -a.
