- A dark red, clear alcoholic liquid used in traditional Chinese medicine "to relieve rheumatic conditions and muscular contractures in the treatment of numbness of the limbs, hemiplegia, facial paralysis, aching in the back and legs and weakness of the lower extremities, difficulty in walking caused by rheumatic or rheumatoid arthritis".
