Cognate with Lao ສອກ (sǭk), ᦉᦸᧅ (ṡoak) or ᦉᦸᧅᧈ (ṡoak¹), Shan သွၵ်ႇ (sàuk), Tai Dam ꪎꪮꪀ, Ahom 𑜏𑜨𑜀𑜫 (sok), Zhuang sok (as in doegsok) (dialectal).
