Etymology
Inherited from Byzantine Greek ξέρω (xérō), ἐξέρω (exérō), from Ancient Greek ἐξεῦρον (exeûron), aorist of ἐξευρίσκω (exeurískō, “to find out”), from ἐξ- (ex-, “ex-”) + εὑρίσκω (heurískō, “to find”) (whence modern βρίσκω (vrísko)).
