Design and architecture
The stadium's design embodies traditional Chinese cosmology, with a "品"-shaped layout symbolizing harmony between "heaven, earth, and humanity". Key innovations include:[2]
- Global Largest Cantilever: A "large-opening spoke-type cable-supported grid" with a 54.1-meter cantilever and an 82-meter-span aerial corridor.
- Eco-Friendly Systems: Solar panels on the roof and a "modular multi-air-conditioning + shallow geothermal" energy system.
- Underground Connectivity: Links the stadium, arena, and natatorium via China's first "three-in-one" underground passages.
