Water polo at the 2022 Asian Games was held at the Huanglong Sports Center, Hangzhou, China from 25 September to 7 October. Nine countries with eight men's teams and seven women's teams participated in the competition.[1]

A draw ceremony was held on 14 August 2023 in Muscat, Oman to determine the groups for the men's competition. The women were played in round robin format.[2]
