Voznesensky District

Voznesensky District (Russian: Вознесе́нский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the forty in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia.^[1] Municipally, it is incorporated as Voznesensky Municipal District.^[4] It is located in the southwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,302.9 square kilometers (503.1 sq mi).^[1] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Voznesenskoye.^[1] Population: 17,352 (2010 Census);^[2] 19,790 (2002 Census);^[6] 22,538 (1989 Soviet census).^[7] The population of Voznesenskoye accounts for 39.1% of the district's total population.^[2]
