Tselinny District (Russian: Цели́нный райо́н) is an administrative^[1] and municipal^[4] district (raion), one of the fifty-nine in Altai Krai, Russia. It is located in the east of the krai. The area of the district is 2,882 square kilometers (1,113 sq mi).^[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Tselinnoye.^[1] Population: 16,403 (2010 Census);^[3] 19,888 (2002 Census);^[6] 21,297 (1989 Soviet census).^[7] The population of Tselinnoye accounts for 32.2% of the district's total population.^[3]
