- Toledo Blade newspaper begins publication.[1]
- Lucas County, Ohio established.[2]
- 1836 - Erie and Kalamazoo Railroad begins operating.[3]
- 1837
- Toledo incorporated.[3]
- John Berdan becomes mayor.
- Fire Department established.[4]
- 1845 - Miami and Erie Canal opens.[3]
- 1850 - Population: 3,829.[3]
- 1851 - Toledo Medical Association founded.[5]
- 1862 - Cherry Street bridge built.[3]
- 1864 - Toledo Library Association formed.[6]
- 1869 - Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway in operation.[3]
