Baron Reiner is handsome yet unscrupulous aristocrat. He becomes infatuated with a young and innocent schoolgirl. The problem is, she is engaged to his best friend, Manfred. To seduce her and steal her from his friend, Reiner finances an oceanographic expedition that takes his friend away for months. Manfred returns and duels with Reiner where he injures the man.
