History

On July 10, 2023, the ECHL awarded an expansion team to the Lake Tahoe area to start play in the 2024–25 season.[7][8][9] The ownership group consists of Tim Tebow and David Hodges. The club will play in the newly constructed Tahoe Blue Event Center located in Stateline, Nevada, near South Lake Tahoe, California. The Knight Monsters broadcaster and manager of communications is Khalin Kapoor.

On November 30, 2023, the team unveiled its name and logo, noting inspiration from the folklore monster Tahoe Tessie.[10][11]

On July 16, 2024 after months of speculation, the Knight Monsters announced a multi-year affiliation agreement with the Vegas Golden Knights and Henderson Silver Knights.[6]
