Background and reception

Wisp expanded upon the origination of “Sword" saying that it constitutes the shame and confusion people may feel when they're hidden from the world by a loved one.[3][8] Karan Singh of Consequence described the song as "Abruptly beautiful and illusive".[9] BrooklynVegan Staff said "Sword" puts a "twist" on shoegaze.[10]

Music video

The music video was directed by Rudy Grazziani and Valeriya Dyatko and is medieval-themed.[3][11][12]
