"Sun Will Never Set" (Chinese: 日不落) is a song by Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai from her ninth studio album, Agent J. The song is adapted from the song "Sunshine in the Rain" (2005) by Swedish group BWO, with the original song co-written by Alexander Bard and Anders Hansson." It was rewritten by Luke Tsui and produced by Michael Lin. It was released on September 21, 2007, by EMI and Mars.[1]

On December 12, 2006, Tsai announced that she would start working on her new album in January 2007;[2] on January 13, 2007, she traveled to London to attend a three-week vocal and dance course,[3] and traveled to Helsingør to begin recording her new album for one week, with the media stating that Tsai's new album was scheduled to be released in August or September of the year.[4] On June 2, 2007, the media revealed that Tsai had finished recording her new album and had traveled to London to attend a 10-day dance course.[5]
On August 8, 2005, EMI spent NT$50 million to make an 80-minute musical movie of the same name for Tsai's new album. The movie is divided into three chapters and was filmed in Paris, London, and Bangkok with actors Kim Jae-won, Stephen Fung, and Carl Ng.[6] On August 11, 2007, all 11 songs of the album were leaked, and the general manager of EMI Greater China, Sam Chen, responded, "IFPI Taiwan has asked the police to handle the case, and once it is found out, any person who uploads, downloads, or exchanges any of the songs will be prosecuted and held legally liable in accordance with the usual principles, and there will be no reconciliation", Tsai also said, "I have spent more than a year and so much effort on this album, but I have not been able to arouse people's respect for intellectual property rights, which makes me very sad."[7]
On September 21, 2007, Tsai's ninth studio album Agent J was released. One of the songs included in the album, "Sun Will Never Set",[1] is a sweet retro song with a music video directed by Marlboro Lai and featuring actor Stephen Fung.[8] The song reached number one in the Hit FM Top 100 Singles of the Year of 2007.[9]
On June 5, 2018, Tencent Games' Dungeon & Fighter announced Tsai as the 10th anniversary spokesperson,[10] she was also the game's first spokesperson, and released the game's anniversary theme song, "The Player”, as well as a version of the DNF apocalypse edition of "Sun Will Never Set",[11][12] which was sung by Tsai and one hundred of gamers, and the lyrics were adapted by the DNF team.[13]
