Shane Richardson is the CEO of the Australian National Rugby League team, the Wests Tigers. Richardson started with the Cronulla Sharks[1] in 1993 and stayed for 5 years before joing Hull FC in the English Super League. Richarson returned in 2002, joing the Penrith Panthers, before joing the South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2004.
Shane Richardson, alongside coach John Lang guided the Penrith Panthers to their 2003 Premiership, defeating the Sydney Roosters. Halfway through the 2004 season, Richardson left the Panthers for the South Sydney Rabbitohs.[2] John Lang later coached the Rabbitohs for the 2010 and 2011 seasons for 48 games, winning 22, after taking over from Jason Taylor
Richardson had previously served as the Chief Executive Officer as well as General Manager of the South Sydney club from July 2004 until March 2015, with his administration culminating in the Rabbitohs’ 21st premiership in 2014.[3][4][5][6][7] He rejoined the club in 2016 from the NRL, where he had served as the head of game strategy and development.
Commencing July 2nd, 2024, Richardon commences a 4 year deal as CEO of the Wests Tigers.[8]
Richardson attended Corinda State High School, Queensland. Richardson was featured on Brisbane Tigers podcast show called League & More with John Devine, featured prominently on the Brisbane Firehawks NRL expansion bid, it is on TigerTV website.
