Samoylovsky District (Russian: Самойловский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the thirty-eight in Saratov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,500 square kilometers (970 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Samoylovka.[2] Population: 21,451 (2010 Census);[3] 25,979 (2002 Census);[8] 26,125 (1989 Soviet census).[9] The population of Samoylovka accounts for 35.3% of the district's total population.[3]
