Pupunki

Pupunki is a village in Jharkhand state, India, on the bank of Damodar River separating the Dhanbad and the Bokaro districts. The NH-32 passes through the village linking it directly to the cities of Dhanbad and Bokaro and making it easily accessible by road. Pupunki is moderately sized village with a population of around 6000.

Pupunki has a full-fledged SBI branch which is unusual for villages in India. It is also home to the famous Pupunki Ashram established by a Hindu monk popularly known as 'Swami Ji'.
