Pronsky District (Russian: Про́нский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the twenty-five in Ryazan Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,070 square kilometers (410 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Pronsk.[2] Population: 31,393 (2010 Census);[4] 34,467 (2002 Census);[8] 34,527 (1989 Soviet census).[9] The population of Pronsk accounts for 12.6% of the district's total population.[4]
