While technically it is average, the performances are a letdown".[4] A critic from Indiaglitz wrote that "Nothing is fair in Preethiya Theru. This is a film made in Rs.4 crores says producer Lokesh Reddy but there are not even four good things that are refreshing".[5] A critic from Chitraloka wrote that "This is not a great film but not a wasted effort either".[6]
