Parafroneta insula is a species of sheet weaver spider endemic to New Zealand.[1]

This species was described in 1979 by A.D Blest from female specimens. The holotype is stored in Otago Museum.[1]
The female is recorded at 3.80mm in length. This species has a dark brown cephalothorax, brown legs and a grey abdomen with pale markings.[1]
This species is only known from Stewart Island and the South Island of New Zealand.[2][1]
Under the New Zealand Threat Classification System, this species is listed as "Data Deficient" with the qualifiers of "Data Poor: Size" and "Data Poor: Trend".[3]
