Pabilgagaltuku

Pabilgagaltuku, also Pabilgeshgaltuku (πΊππ π²π, pa.bil2.ΔeΕ‘-gal-tuku; fl.βc. 2450 BC)[1] was Governor (ensi) of Umma, a city-state in Sumer. He was captured by Ur-Nanshe of Lagash.[2] His successor was Ush.[3]

Pabilgagaltuku is known from an inscription of Ur-Nanshe, in which Ur-Nanshe claims that he defeated Umma and captured Pabilgagaltuku:
pabilgax (pa.bil2.ΔeΕ‘)-gal-tuku ensi2 umma(geΕ‘.kuΕ‘u2)ki mu-dab5
βHe seized Pabilgagaltuku, the governor of Umma.βββInscription of Ur-Nanshe.[1]
Pabilgagaltuku may also be mentioned in the Stele of the Vultures, as having been vanquished in the past by Ur-Nanshe.[1]
