Nisreen Elsaim (Arabic: نسرين الصائم) is a Sudanese youth climate activist and climate negotiator.[1]

Elsaim holds a bachelor's degree in physics and a master's degree in renewable energy technology from the University of Khartoum.[2][3]
A month after the Sudanese civil war began in April 2023, Elsaim and her family fled Sudan for their safety.[4]
Elsaim had a son in 2022.[4]
Elsaim has actively been involved in youth climate activism since 2012.[5] Elsaim is president of the Sudan Youth for Climate Change[2] and was an organizer of the 2019 UN Youth Climate Summit.[6] She is the former Chair of the United Nations' first Youth Advisory Group on Climate Change from 2020 to 2022, organized by the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, after a nomination by the Pan African Climate Justice Alliance.[2][7]
In June 2024, Elsaim was listed as a finalist for the Kofi Annan NextGen Democracy Prize, organized by the Kofi Annan Foundation and the Democracy and Culture Foundation.[8]
