Nasser Unit

Nasser unit (Arabic: وحدة نصر) is one of Hezbollah's geographical units operating under the organization's southern area in Lebanon. It is responsible for the eastern zone of Southern Lebanon, stretching from Bint Jbeil eastwards. The unit is part of Hezbollah's "first line of defense," which covers the area between the Israeli border and the Litani River.

Operations

The Nasser unit, along with other regional divisions like the Aziz unit. Like other Hezbollah units, the Nasser unit has independent capabilities including rocket fire, anti-aircraft systems, mortars, combat engineering, and drone units.[1][2] It also has logistics, communications, and medical support through Hezbollah's Islamic Health Authority. The unit has been involved in firing rockets and anti-tank missiles at Israeli territory. The unit colaborated with other units in establishing a wide network of underground infrastructure from which Hezbollah planned to target Israeli forces and towns in the event of fighting in Lebanon.[3][1]

Taleb Sami Abdallah

Taleb Sami Abdallah, also known as Hajj Abou Taleb, was a senior Hezbollah military commander born in 1969 in Adchit, South Lebanon. He was killed on June 11, 2024, in an Israeli airstrike targeting a building in Jwaya, near Tyre, where he was present with three other Hezbollah members. Abdallah held a significant position within Hezbollah, serving as a member of its Military Council and commanding the central region of the southern border strip. He was considered the highest-ranking Hezbollah official killed since the onset of the conflict in October. Throughout his career, Abdallah participated in various conflicts, including the wars in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Syria, Yemen, and Iraq, often collaborating with Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.[5][4][6]

Jaafar Khader Faour

Jaafar Khader Faour was a commander within Hezbollah's Nasser Brigade, responsible for rocket operations in Southern Lebanon. On November 2, 2024, the Israeli military reported that it had killed Faour in an airstrike targeting the southern suburbs of Beirut.[4][7]
