Mohammad Hassan Asadi (Persian: محمدحسن اسدی , born in June 1966, is the mayor of Shiraz; he holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Shiraz University, a master's degree in financial management, and a doctorate in strategic business management. Over the years, he has held various positions, including: Deputy Finance and Administration of the former mayor of Shiraz, Deputy Finance and Economics of the former mayor of Shiraz, Head of Shiraz Municipality, Deputy Planning and Development Affairs of the Shiraz Governorate, Deputy Housing and Urban Development Support of Fars Province, Board Member and Deputy Support of Sadra New City Development Company, Director General of Facilities and Resources of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism, and Director General of Resources Development and Support of the Ports and Shipping Organization. Many of the development projects of the Shiraz metropolis have been financed by him.[1]

In the 80th session of the Shiraz Islamic City Council, the members of the 6th term elected Mohammad Hassan Asadi as the mayor of the metropolis with eight positive votes. Following the studies conducted by the 6th Shiraz City Council, Mohsen Ardakani and Mohammad Hassan Asadi were selected as the final candidates for the post of new mayor of Shiraz, and Asadi was elected to the position with a majority of votes. With the presence of 12 members of the Shiraz City Council in person and Mehdi Soltani virtually, in the session of the 12th of September, the Shiraz Islamic City Council, Mohammad Hassan Asadi received eight votes and Mohsen Ardakani received five votes.[2]
