Milesia is a genus of very large hoverflies,[10] which mimic social wasps. For example, the European species Milesia crabroniformis is a convincing mimic of the hornet species Vespa crabro. Milesia are predominantly Palaeotropical in
distribution almost entirely Oriental.[11]
