Perspective

Minogue grew up in Levin, New Zealand, and was educated at St Joseph's Primary School, Horowhenua College[4] and spent a year at St. Patrick's College Silverstream.

He worked in the production side of the film industry on a number of films including The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, The Hobbit trilogy, District 9, The Adventures of Tintin and Avatar before auditioning for a role in Separation City.[5][6]

He auditioned for a part in the 2014 film What We Do in the Shadows. Minogue played Officer Minogue in the film and continued the same role in the spin-off television series Wellington Paranormal, until the shows finale, which aired in 2022. He won a New Zealand Television Award for this role in 2019.[7]

He also played the role of a hunter in Hunt For The Wilderpeople.

Minogue developed and starred in web/TV series The Water Cooler[5] in 2016. He has also produced a number of short films.

In 2024, Minogue developed scurvy after a diet meant that he hadn't eaten a vegetable for 6 months.

HBO announced early in 2024 that Minogue would be joining the cast of The White Lotus for its third season. After filming on location in Ko Samui Thailand for 3 weeks, Minogue was cut out of his scenes post-production, his parts replaced by understudy actor Scott Glenn. Minogue revealed on the Radio Hauraki Big Show that his unusually large nose was thought to have played a part in the recasting.

In March 2025 on the Radio Hauraki Big Show Outro Podcast Minogue stated his regret at not taking part in the New Zealand TV show 'Field Punishment No. 1' due to having 2 uncles that were conscientious objectors during WW1, whilst also coming from "a long line of cowards".[8]

In April 2025, Minogue admitted on the Radio Hauraki Big Show Podcast, "I've always got soup at the front of my mind," revealing his fondness for soup.[9]
