Megan Suri

Megan Suri (born 1999 or 2000)^[1] is an American actress, best known for her role in The MisEducation of Bindu (2019), as well as for portraying Aneesa in the Netflix teen comedy series Never Have I Ever (2020–2023). She also made minor appearances in television shows such as Modern Family, Fresh Off the Boat, and Bones.

Early life

Suri was born in the United States to Indian Punjabi immigrant parents. She spent two years in India as a child.^[2] She has two brothers and a sister. Her father is a former professional cricket player who was visiting the US around the start of the 1984 Sikh genocide in India.^[1]

Career

Suri made her acting debut in 2010, in the romantic comedy film Valentine's Day.^[3][1] She subsequently appeared in the Fresh Off the Boat backdoor pilot Magic Motor Inn.^[1]

In 2019, Suri starred in the independent comedy film The MisEducation of Bindu (2019).^[4][5][6] A critic noted that "Megan Suri is perfectly cast as Bindu".^[7] From 2021 to 2023, she portrayed Aneesa, another Indian student who goes to Devi's high school, in Never Have I Ever.^{[8][9][10][11]} One critic opined that "Megan Suri is outstanding as Aneesa".^[12]

Suri's first leading role was in the 2023 horror film It Lives Inside, which was directed by Bishal Dutta.^[1]

Personal life

Suri lives with her family in Downey, California. They own a dog.^[1]
