Iranian rock climber (born 1987) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mansour Aghaei (Persian: منصور آقایی, born August 4, 1987, in Tabriz, Iran) is an Iranian professional rock climber, specializing in competition climbing, particularly competition lead climbing and competition bouldering. He is currently in charge of the Iran national competition climbing team.[1] He has also been teaching physical education at the University of Tabriz since 2012. In 2002, Aghaei came second in the Asian Youth Championships in Malaysia.[2][3]

Aghaei started climbing at the age of six and has been climbing for 25 years. At the age of nine, he won a gold medal in the Tabriz province championships,[4] and in 2002 at the age of fifteen he came in second in the Asian Youth Championships in Malaysia[5][3] He was honored and awarded by the president of Iran as one of the best champions in Iran and best athlete of the province.[6]
Aghaei was ranked second in the National Biology Olympiad of Iran in 2004. He continued his academic education in Physical Education (09.2006–01.2009), Exercise Physiology (09.2009–07.2011),[7][8] and Metabolism & Exercise Biochemistry (09.2015–07.2018) at the University of Tabriz. He graduated B.Sc. and M.Sc. as a top student and got the best paper award in the first Eurasian Sport Science Congress, which was held at the University of Tabriz in 2018 (Effects of one month rock climbing training with or without blood flow restriction on vascular endothelial growth factor and growth hormone in elite climbers).[9][10][11][12]
