Malpas is a locality in southeast South Australia located 190 km east of Adelaide, South Australia on the Cameron Highway.[2] In the 2021 census, Malpas had a population of 9.[3]

Malpas was originally called Woolwa when surveyed as part of an area on the then-newly opened Tailem Bend to Brown's Well railway line in 1913. It was renamed to Malpas in 1921 to honor Lieutenant Harold Egerton Malpas who died in Pozières on 7 August 1916.[4] The railway line through Malpas closed in 1990 and was removed shortly after.[5] The boundaries for the locality were created on 28 September 2000.[6][7]
Malpas had an institute hall with shops and libraries which opened in 1923 but was demolished circa 1997. It never had a church so meetings on Sundays were mostly held in the hall. Malpas also had a local school which opened in 1920 but it is now also closed.[8] Malpas was originally in the District Council of Brown's Well until a merger that created the District Council of Loxton Waikerie in 1997.[9]
