Malli is a 2024 Indian Tamil-language television series starring Nikitha Rajesh, Vijay Venkatesan, and Rahila Sayedh.[1] The series was Produced by Saregama. It premiered on 29 April 2024 on Sun TV. It is also available on the digital platform Sun NXT.[2]

The story revolves around arrogant and rich businessman Vijayakumar, who is raising his daughter as a single father. Things take a momentous shift when a bold and loving village girl, Malli, crosses paths with a doting father and his 6-year-old daughter who yearns for a mother's love. Venba, the daughter who longs for a mother. But Vijayakumar, who wants a mother not to come in their life. How she unites her potential mother in Malli, with her dad in Vijayakumar, forms the plot.[3]
It was announced on 14 April 2024, that the series will be released on Sun TV. The series will be produced by Saregama, which previously produced the Sun TV series Anbe Vaa, Ilakkiya and Iniya. This is the 15th serial produced for Sun TV.
After the ending of the longest running Sun TV drama Anbe Vaa,[4] its production company Saregama decided to produce Malli.
Vimal Venkatesan[5] was cast in the male lead role as Vijayakumar after his role as Karthikeyan in Zee Tamil`s Peranbu,[6] while actress Nikitha Rajesh was cast as the female lead role as Malli, marking her return after Zee Tamil`s Suryavamsam.[7][8] Roja serial fame Akshaya Mohan Kumar,[9] veteran actress Nalini,[10][11] Poornima Bhagyaraj[11] and Madhan Bob were also cast.
On 3 June 2024, actress Ambika was cast as Vidhya's elder sister Pothum Ponnu.[12]
The show started airing on Sun TV on 29 April 2024 from Monday to Sunday, replacing 'Anbe Vaa'.[13]
