The Maharashtra State Film Award for Best Film is an award presented annually at the Maharashtra State Film Awards of India to the best film in Marathi cinema. The awards are managed directly by the Maharashtra Government under the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Government of Maharashtra.

The inaugural award was named as "Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Best Feature Film" and was awarded to Prapanch, directed by Madhukar Pathak. Rajdutt is the most honoured director where eight of his films— Gharchi Rani (1968), Apradh (1969), Devaki Nandan Gopala (1978), Shapit (1982), Raghu Maina (1983), Hech Maze Maher (1984), Ardhangi (1985) and Pudhcha Paaul (1986) won the award, followed Raja Thakur and Sumitra Bhave–Sunil Sukthankar (four each), Jabbar Patel and Sanjay Surkar (three each), Madhukar Pathak (two).[1]
