In January 2024, Botafogo announced the signing of defender Lucas Halter, a standout player for Goiás in the 2023 season. The club traded the 23-year-old player permanently until the end of 2027 with Athletico, his training team.[1]
A standout from Goiás, Halter was not excited at Botafogo. The 23-year-old defender accumulates errors in matches for the team and was the target of criticism, including from Glorioso's football owner, John Textor, for his performance in Botafogo's 3-1 defeat to Junior Barranquilla,[2] at the Nilton Santos Stadium, for the team's debut. Libertadores group stage.[3]
