Lola Marceli

Lola Marceli (born 1967) is a Spanish actress. She earned early public recognition in the 1990s for her performance as Mercedes in El súper.^[1]

Biography

Born in Alicante in 1967,^[2] she was raised in between Alicante and Málaga.^[3] She trained at the Málaga's Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático (ESAD).^[4] Cast in 1996 in the soap opera El súper, her breakout performance as a self-sacrificing wife deceived by her husband consolidated her career.^[5] Her performance as a fiery Spanish woman scorned by her husband in the 2001 Australian comedy-drama film La Spagnola earned Marceli a nomination to the AFI Award for Best Leading Actress.^[6] She landed subsequent main cast roles in Hospital Central, Un chupete para ella, Amar es para siempre, Padres,^[5] SMS (as a lawyer and the mother of Paula, the character played by Amaia Salamanca),^[7] Bandolera, Víctor Ros,^[5] and Mercado central.^[8]
